Mayor Meeker Promotes Awareness Of Weatherization Program
It’s that time of year; Raleigh residents are turning up their thermostats to cozy-up their quarters. Mayor Charles Meeker has joined with Resources for Seniors to promote a federally funded program that looks to assure that no one is left out in the cold.
The Loose Leaf Curbside Collection Program for the 2009-10 leaf season is now under way. Collections will be made in each area of the city once by Christmas and a second time after January 4, 2010. Contact the Leaf Line at 996-3720 for updates. Click "More" for details.

Curbside Grease Collection Pilot Program Begins
The City is now providing curbside collection of cooking oil and grease in a pilot program designed to help prevent sewer overflows. Residents can now dispose of these products by leaving them at the curb along with their garbage, recycling and yard waste. The effort will continue until January 15.
