Parks and Recreation Offering Classes on Rain Barrel Construction
The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department will host four workshops over the next several months aimed at teaching Raleigh residents how to construct their own rain barrels. Participants will build their own blue barrels to take home. For $25, participants will receive a screen, overflow hose, faucet and gutter downspout. Raleigh residents are encouraged to use rain barrels to allow for irrigation during this historic, exceptional drought.

The workshops will be on:
Monday, April 21, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Jaycee Community Center;

Friday, May 16, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lake Lynn Community Center;

Wednesday, May 21, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Durant Nature Park Training Lodge; and,
-
Tuesday, July 8, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Top Green Neighborhood Center .
