Special Public Hearing On Proposed Comp Plan Update Set For March 19
Raleigh citizens will get a chance to comment on the City’s draft Comprehensive Plan update. The City Council and the Raleigh Planning Commission will hold a special joint public hearing on the proposed plan on Thursday, March 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the council chamber at the Avery C. Upchurch Government Complex, located at 222 W. Hargett St.
The Comprehensive Plan update is the culmination of 18 months of work on the part of City staff and consultants. The plan provides the framework to guide Raleigh’s growth through 2030. It has a firm grounding in both data and analysis, represented by a 400-page Community Inventory Report and an audit of more than 5,000 previously adopted policy, goal and action statements. The update process included more than 40 public meetings, 1,500 participants and 1,200 online comments from citizens.
The draft Comprehensive Plan update and Community Inventory Report can be viewed on the project website at www.planningraleigh2030.com. Print copies also are available for review at the following locations (the copies cannot be removed from the facilities):
