ECC Employee Elected To N.C. NENA Hall Of Fame
Jesse Creech, a supervisor in the Raleigh-Wake County Emergency Communications Center, has been selected as one of the first inductees into the Hall of Fame of the North Carolina chapter of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA).
A 21-year employee in the Emergency Communications Center, Mr. Creech will be inducted on Sept. 9 during the annual conference of the North Carolina NENA at Sea Trail Resort in Sunset Beach. Mr. Creech was selected to the Hall of Fame for his long term commitment to the Telecommunicator Emergency Response Task Force (TERT) program, which mobilizes dispatchers from around the state to assist other communities during serious emergencies and natural disasters. Mr. Creech has been directly involved in every activation of this plan since its inception, including being assigned to Saint Tammany’s Parish in Louisiana during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. His most recent assignment was in Dare County for a major wildfire.
NENA was formed to foster the technological advancement, availability and implementation of a universal emergency telephone number system (9-1-1). In carrying out its mission, NENA promotes research, planning, training and education. The protection of human life, the preservation of property, and the maintenance of general community security are among NENA's objectives
