City Council Approves Capital Area Transit Service For Wake Tech

The Raleigh City Council, on Nov. 18, approved an agreement for Capital Area Transit (CAT) to extended transit service to Wake Technical Community College.

The Wake Tech bus service will begin on January 5, 2009. The regional express route will travel between Moore Square Station and Wake Technical Community College,  9101 Fayetteville Road with a stop at a to be determined park-and-ride lot in Garner.

The service will operate hourly from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on days when Wake Tech is in session. On days when classes are not in session a modified schedule will be in place. The Raleigh Transit authority will set the fare for the route at their next meeting. The route will be fare free from Moore Square Station to the campus for Wake Tech students with a valid ID. Wake Tech students will pay the regular fares on all other CAT routes.
