Blount Street Parking Deck Opens Wednesday
The City of Raleigh’s new Blount Street Parking Deck will open tomorrow. The deck is located at 314 Blount St. between Martin and Davie streets. There are two entrances to the deck – one on Blount Street and the other on Wilmington Street.
The new parking deck has a total of 1,232 spaces – with 704 of those spaces dedicated for public parking. Of the public spaces, 472 are allocated for monthly parking and the remaining 232 spaces are for hourly/daily parking. There are a total of 528 private parking spaces in the deck.
The Blount Street Parking Deck will support the nearby 33-story RBC Plaza mixed-use tower, which includes the new headquarters for RBC Centura bank, and current and future development in the downtown area.
As it is with the City’s other parking decks, the Blount Street facility will be open for pay parking from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Though attendants will be on duty until 10 p.m. on weekdays, there will be no charge for time spent in the deck after 7 p.m. during the week or all day on Saturdays and Sundays, except during special events. People interested in arranging for monthly parking in the Blount Street Parking Deck should contact McLaurin Parking at 833-7522.
