26th Annual Run for the Oaks On March 15

On Saturday, March 15, the City of Raleigh, Parks and Recreation Department will hold its 26th annual Run for the Oaks. All proceeds go towards planting trees in Raleigh, the City of Oaks.

This year’s event features a new start time and new race route. The run begins at 8:30 a.m. at City Market in downtown Raleigh.  The new route takes runners by Historic Mordecai Park.  To get an updated map of the race route, click here  (pdf format) or visit parks.raleighnc.gov or active.com.

In conjunction with the run participants are invited to join the City of Raleigh Urban Forestry Division for our Arbor Day Celebration.  Free seedlings will be distributed and tree care experts will be available to provide information.

The cost is just $18 for recreational runners and $20 for competitive runners registering before March 6.  If you register after March 6, it is an additional $5.  To register contact Kira Stewart at 870-2911 or visit active.com.
