Construction Manager-at-Risk

After searching for the best possible construction delivery method for a project of the size and scope of the new convention center, the City Council has approved the CM at-Risk process as the method most likely to produce a quality product in a timely fashion.  The NC General Statutes provide the basic framework for the CM at-Risk process, including planning, managing design and construction, cost analyses, scheduling, quality control and guaranteeing the construction cost (Guaranteed Maximum Price, GMP).  The City Council has chosen Skanska-Barnhill as Construction Manager-at-risk for the Convention Center (March 2, 2004).

Questions about the design or construction management process may be addressed by e-mail to Jeffrey A. Deal or to Wayne Baker
