Construction Management

Manages CIP through the planning stage, site acquisition, consultant selection, contract negotiations, project development/design, bidding, construction contract award, payments, completion and acceptance by the City.  Responsibility may involve estimating and dealing with environmental issues on renovation projects.  Oversite of specialty areas may include asbestos and lead paint abatement, underground storage tank removal and clean up.  Necessary to work with a variety of City departments and State agencies to determine their specific needs and concerns related to projects and incorporate them into project design and contract documents.  Projects include new construction and renovations to City owned buildings.  The range of projects include parking decks, fire stations, Convention Center, roof replacements and streetscape improvements.
