The Zoning Division consists of 17 personnel. They are responsible for the enforcement of the local zoning regulations that include signs, landscaping and other land use ordinances. In addition to enforcement, the Zoning Division is responsible for reviewing site plans for compliance with all site and landscaping Zoning Codes. This division issues sign permits, home occupation use permits, and fence permits, to name a few. The Zoning Enforcement Administrator is the city representative for the Raleigh Board of Adjustment which is responsible for hearing appeals for variances, special use permits and zoning code interpretations.
