Youth Services

Youth Services Division

The City of Raleigh Youth Services Division will administer special programs to assist youth in achieving their vocational, educational and social goals.  Through their work, youth will develop good work habits, learn new skills and come to realize the importance of job experience to a successful future, as well as earning wages for their hard work.  The City of Raleigh encourages every citizen, individual and business to do their part for the continuing growth and progress in these programs.

RaleighSummer Youth Employment Program

RSYEP promotes Raleigh’s youth by helping them develop quality Life Skills.  Youth perform public service while earning money and acquiring a valuable job experience.  All youth participants must be between the ages of 14-18 and the primary residence address must be in the City limits of Raleigh.

Beltline Clean-Up/Median Beautification Program

The project begins in early October with a Safety Orientation for youth participants and their parents. Twenty youth will participate.  Four crews will be structured with one adult supervisor, a full-time Parks and Recreation employee, and five youth per crew.  Crews will work October to May, 7:30a.m.-4:30p.m. each scheduled Saturday.
