Downtown Planning
Downtown Raleigh is a center of cultural, economic, governmental and social activity for the Triangle region and the state's capital city. Although land use patterns and development characteristics have evolved over the years, the original 1792 Christmas Plan still provides the primary framework for the circulation and open space network in Raleigh's urban core. The more recent "Livable Streets Plan" outlines actions and strategies for current stakeholders to undertake to foster ongoing revitalization and diversification of Downtown Raleigh.
